  • Be responsible for the life of your loved ones and the people of the host country.

Iceland

Iceland is one of the safest countries to travel to. Iceland is a relatively small country with a population density of as low as 3 people per square kilometer. It makes it easier for travelers to travel without interacting with many people. Besides, 70% of the population lives in the capital area, so you can explore the whole country without many people. This is a perfect destination for introverts. Iceland is known for its unique nature and vast open spaces. Most travelers visit Iceland to discover its nature, to see the Northern Lights or to capture hundreds of waterfalls in a day.

Border policy: Travelers who have been vaccinated or have had previous infections must present a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test or PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure. Those travelers who are not fully vaccinated must stay in quarantine for 5 days and undergo 2 COVID-19 tests, before and after quarantine. Non-vaccinated travelers are also required to provide negative COVID-19 test results taken no more than 72 hours before entering Iceland.

Moreover, Greece has more hospital beds per capita than any other European country. Greece is an exceptional destination for those who love nature, those who are interested in discovering historical places and artifacts, and those who seek long summer sunny days on beautiful beaches. So, every traveler can find something interesting to do here.

Border policy: Greece welcomes travelers from European Union and Schengen Area countries, as well as countries that have recently reported low infection rates. You can find the full list of countries here. Unfortunately, countries that are not on this list can’t enter Greece. Travelers, entering Greece, must present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arrival. In addition, you must provide one of the following acceptable documents:

Portugal offers to travelers long picturesque beaches, the ocean, cultural sites, and many more interesting things. It’s a perfect place to go for a vacation with a family.

Border policy: Travelers must present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test result. The PCR test should be taken within 72 hours before arrival, and the rapid antigen test – within 24 hours. Not all countries are allowed to enter Portugal. Here you will find more detailed information about Portugal’s border policy, including for Azores Island and Madeira.

Romania

Romania is a relatively safe country to visit. It has had 15 times fewer Covid-19 cases than many European countries. In Romania, travelers will find picturesque cities with a rich cultural heritage, diverse architecture, gastronomy and beautiful nature. Romania is committed to sustainable tourism development to protect nature and human beings.

Border policy: Romania’s restrictions are different from those applied in other EU countries. The country has its own classification of risk areas of “green”, “yellow” and “red” areas. Travelers from “red” areas, unfortunately, cannot visit the country. More information about COVID-19 restrictions in Romania can be found here.

Croatia

Croatia has been rather spared during the pandemic compared to other European countries. Besides, its healthcare is well-equipped with more beds per capita than many other European countries. You have probably seen the unique architecture of its cities in many popular movies. Also, Croatia is one of the great romantic destinations in the world.

Border policy: Croatia’s border policy is based on the European Centre for Disease and Prevention Control (ECDC) recommendation, according to which countries are categorized by their infection rates. More about Croatia’s restrictions and the list of countries that are permitted to enter Croatia can be found here.

Cyprus

The glorious Mediterranean island of Cyprus is a safe country to travel to. Thanks to the implementation of a successful vaccination campaign, 75% of the population has already been vaccinated with one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Cyprus is one of the best destinations for adventurous travelers. It has numerous historical sites, related to mythology and the cleanest beaches in Europe. It is believed to be the birthplace of the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite.

Border policy: Cyprus has also categorized countries based on their infection rates. Travelers from “green” countries won’t need to quarantine or take any test. Those arriving from orange countries must present a negative PCR test certificate, taken within 72 hours before arriving. Travelers from “red” countries are only allowed to enter Cyprus for essential purposes.

Grenada

Grenada has a very low level of infections of COVID-19. Grenada is a very special travel destination for those who want to get unforgettable memories. In Grenada, you can discover the sunny Caribbean beaches and green forests of the islands. Grenada is known for its underwater sculpture park, a collection of human sculptures on the ocean. These works of art can be viewed by snorkeling, scuba diving or through clear glass bottom boats.

Border policy: Travelers should be fully vaccinated before entering Grenada and present a negative RT-PCR test on arrival. Fully vaccinated travelers must quarantine for 48 hours at their chosen accommodation while waiting for PCR test results. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for up to 7 days. Also, note that travelers are responsible for finding accommodation beforehand to stay during their quarantine.

One more time, be careful and remember that the list of safest countries is changing very frequently. So, before leaving your country, check all the requirements and restrictions of the country you’re going to.

Remember to wear a mask in public places and keep social distance.

Good luck and happy holidays!
