What Is Pumpkin Spice Latte

Pumpkin spice latte was first offered by Starbucks in 2003. The beverage is made of a combination of autumn spice flavors, espresso and steamed milk. Warm soy milk, muesli, or coffee can be a great option for the base of the coffee. The top of the coffee is decorated with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices. This kind of coffee offered in Starbucks or other stores can cost money. On the other hand, when you make a latte at home, it is much cheaper, more satisfying, and you can make an unlimited number of cups in your favorite mug.

Behind the recipe

How to Make a Pumpkin Spice Latte

STEP 1: Choosing dairy or non-dairy milk, doesn’t matter. Almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk,  cashew milk or oat milk are all excellent choices, too(the higher the fat, the more delicious it will be)! Add a small amount of vanilla to the milk for a fantastic taste and stir it into a small pot. Then, heat over until the mix is hot and almost simmering. Make sure the milk is not boiling. You can also microwave the milk for up to 1 or 2 minutes.

STEP 2: Next, in a saucepan, mix the pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and a pinch of cinnamon. Add the blend to the milk and whisk until it becomes smooth. Moreover, you can use a little of the spices for decorating the top. For a pumpkin puree, take homemade or canned puree.

STEP 3: A nice Espresso makes your latte wonderfully strong. You can also use another instant coffee for your latte base. Starbucks usually adds 12 ounces of Espresso to its big latte. Brew the coffee and mix it with pumpkin spice milk. Fill a quarter cup of each latte with the mass.

STEP  4: Last but not least, it’s time to top your pumpkin spice latte with whipped cream and a pinch of pumpkin spice pie. Feel free to taste and alter the flavor as you need by adding additional spices, espresso coffee, cinnamon or a fine blend for a stronger coffee flavor, or syrup for sweetness.

Iced Version of Pumpkin Spice Latte

For an iced pumpkin spice latte, in a blender, combine all the ingredients (except the ice) and mix till it becomes bubbly and frothy. One more time, before adding the ice, give your pumpkin spice latte a quick taste to see if you need to add more maple syrup for sweetness. Top the latte with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Then, serve the latte immediately over ice and enjoy.
